Web Video – Are people really paying attention?

Video marketing is quickly becoming the most powerful tool to market your products and services online. But when it comes to web videos, are people paying attention? Let’s look at some stats:

• In the US, video consumers are watching about 4.3 hours worth of video per month. Considering how short many web videos are, that’s a lot of different videos people are watching
• Video email messages generate 2-3 times higher click-thru rates than static, text based emails.
• 144 million viewers watched 14.6 billion videos on Youtube per month. That averages out to 101.2 videos per user.
• Video ads account for 12.4% of all videos viewed online.

Videos are no different when it comes to tracking the analytics of views, click thrus, etc. It helps to be able to track what videos work and what videos need to be tweaked. Why? Because:

• 20% of online video viewers click away in the first 10 seconds or less
• By 30 seconds into a video, up to 33% of viewers have moved on to something else. At the 1 minute mark, 44% of viewers have moved on, and almost 60% have left by the 2 minute mark

Don’t let these stats scare you, let them help you to make a video that will get you the most business. First off, you now know how important the first 10 seconds are, if you use those first 10 seconds to engage the viewer, you might hang on to them long enough to get them to click out to your targeted site.
So how do we track our videos? Well, there’s a couple of different ways.

1. For all Youtube videos, the site offers you ‘Insight’. This shows the views, how long they viewed your video, location, and much more. Insight is free so be sure to take a look at it.
2. If your video is on a non-sharing site, such as your home page, be sure to set up Google analytics on that page. Google Analytics is fantastic. I will admit, I’m addicted to it. I check it every day. Google Analytics is free. Once you set it up, it will show you a ton if information. You can view unique views, bounce rates, where the person clicked out to, where the viewer came from, and a whole lot more. Using Google Analytics, I can determine what works and what doesn’t. I continually make changes based on what my Analytics tell me. If you don’t have an account set up, I highly suggest you get one soon.
3. Easy Video Player – Easy Video Player(EVP) is for people that use Amazon S3 to host their files. EVP acts as a middleman between you and Amazon S3. It provides your video with buttons on your video player such as play, pause, rewind, embed, download, share, and much more. Be sure to check out all of the options Easy Video Player provide. One very nice option EVP gives you is called ‘split testing’. This way you can create two different videos that EVP will alternate through when people visit the page. EVP provides you with stats on how many people viewed the whole thing, how many clicked away, and a whole lot more. Using the stats EVP gives you, you can decide what version of your video converts the best.

So are people paying attention to video? Yes. How much? Each case is a little different. And that’s where using Insight, Google Analytics, and stat providing video software, can really come in handy.

New Media Marketing – Start Now or Lose Forever

Video marketing is not only going to be around for a long time, it’s going to grow at an ever increasing rate. The bad news about that statement is that you probably aren’t using video to your advantage as best you could. The good news is that it’s still not too late to start improving/starting your video marketing strategy. One recent study has stated that viewers watched 75% more videos online in December 2010 than December 2008. Currently, 30% of Internet traffic is currently video. Youtube – The Social Marketing Tool Everybody Forgets

Did you know Youtube has more monthly searches than Google? It’s true. Youtube is now the second largest search engine right behind Google. But, as you know, Youtube is much, much more than just a search engine. AND it’s also much more than just a video sharing site. Youtube is trying very hard to be a social networking site too. Most people don’t think of Youtube as a social networking site and that is where they are missing out on a huge opportunity to market their products and services. So what exactly is Youtube doing to become more like Facebook? Let’s Take a look:

• Friends – You can get friends and be friends to other users on Youtube. A friend is somebody that wants to stay in contact with you and wants to be able to leave and read comments. Friends are different than subscribers. You can also post comments back to your friends. You can’t post a clickable link in a comment.
• Bulletins – Posting bulletins allows you to provide information on your channel. It’s a lot like posting a status on Facebook. This is also a good place to post clickable links.
• Like/Dislikes – You can click a thumbs up or thumbs down on any video you watch to indicate whether you liked it or not.
• Subscriptions – Subscriptions are a lot like being a fan of somebody’s Youtube channel. If you get subscribers (and you should), they will be notified of any new videos you upload. Subscribers might not necessarily be ‘friends’ and vice versa. You want subscribers. Also, any channels you are a subscriber to will show up in your channel as well. This is good to know. This is how your channel can grow quickly. The more subscribers you get, the more times your channel is mentioned on somebody else’s channel.
• Comments – You can comment on any video or in the comment section in anybody’s channel.

The only thing you can’t do in Youtube that you can do in Facebook is post pictures. I don’t see this happening any time soon but you never know. Make sure you use Youtube as much as you can. Basically, your Youtube channel is your very own TV station; but better. It’s better because unlike a TV station that has a set number of viewers, limited by location, Youtube provides unlimited numbers of viewers from all over the world. Start taking advantage of all of Youtube’s features because it’s going to be around for a long time.

We just so happen to have 8 hours of video training on everything from equipment, editing, and scripting to marketing your finished video. Check out our EASY VIDEO CREATION training package

But what other way can you promote your product, and promote it for free? Video. Using video when launching a product is not only a good idea, it’s also cheap and easy. In your launch, you want to create excitement and get people talking. Video is perfect for this. Your video could simply consist of you talking to the camera. A basic talking head shot of you talking about your product can be all your customers need to see before they buy. Now we always hear the same question over and over:
“What do I say?”
Well, who knows your product better than you? All you have to do, is tell us about this fantastic product and how it’s going to help us. Here, I’ll make it even easier for you. I’ll tell you what you should say and in the order you should say it.

4. Outro – “I’m Marc, and I’ll see you there.”

That’s it. Just using that simple script, you can create a video that now can be seen on Youtube and all of the other video sharing sites, as well as your home page, facebook page, twitter page, and anywhere else that accepts video. Seach Engine Rankings – Learn SEO The Easy Way

SEO, or search engine optimization, is how websites are discovered by the search engines. It consists of many different facets including keywords on the web pages, how many there are, where they are placed, are graphics are optimized, how many sites are linking to you and much more. If you want your website to get good positioning, then SEO is a must learn process. Many of the tactics can be learned and implemented by yourself with a bit of practice. It’s finding a good mentor that keeps up on the changes that is really important.

See, search engines need to constantly change the way they search for websites. That’s because if website owners can figure out how they do it, they could “game” the system and get top rankings easily. Gaming is not how it’s done. A complete and well thought out system needs to be established solely for your kind of site. Setting up long term strategies based on sound SEO principles will keep your site at the top of the searches.

Search engines may change the way the search for sites periodically, but the main sysytem doesn’t change. They just tweak it a little. And a good SEO mentor knows how to create different pages of your website that will come up high on certain weeks and some pages will come up high on other weeks when the search engines change their algorithms…. keeping your site in perfect balance week after week. Trying to chase the search engines around with tricks doesn’t work. In fact it can get your website banned. You need a well balanced and whole view of how you use SEO.

All the SEO training you need for only $9.95 a month.
