Youtube – The Social Marketing Tool Everybody Forgets

Did you know Youtube has more monthly searches than Google? It’s true. Youtube is now the second largest search engine right behind Google. But, as you know, Youtube is much, much more than just a search engine. AND it’s also much more than just a video sharing site. Youtube is trying very hard to be a social networking site too. Most people don’t think of Youtube as a social networking site and that is where they are missing out on a huge opportunity to market their products and services. So what exactly is Youtube doing to become more like Facebook? Let’s Take a look:

• Friends – You can get friends and be friends to other users on Youtube. A friend is somebody that wants to stay in contact with you and wants to be able to leave and read comments. Friends are different than subscribers. You can also post comments back to your friends. You can’t post a clickable link in a comment.
• Bulletins – Posting bulletins allows you to provide information on your channel. It’s a lot like posting a status on Facebook. This is also a good place to post clickable links.
• Like/Dislikes – You can click a thumbs up or thumbs down on any video you watch to indicate whether you liked it or not.
• Subscriptions – Subscriptions are a lot like being a fan of somebody’s Youtube channel. If you get subscribers (and you should), they will be notified of any new videos you upload. Subscribers might not necessarily be ‘friends’ and vice versa. You want subscribers. Also, any channels you are a subscriber to will show up in your channel as well. This is good to know. This is how your channel can grow quickly. The more subscribers you get, the more times your channel is mentioned on somebody else’s channel.
• Comments – You can comment on any video or in the comment section in anybody’s channel.

The only thing you can’t do in Youtube that you can do in Facebook is post pictures. I don’t see this happening any time soon but you never know. Make sure you use Youtube as much as you can. Basically, your Youtube channel is your very own TV station; but better. It’s better because unlike a TV station that has a set number of viewers, limited by location, Youtube provides unlimited numbers of viewers from all over the world. Start taking advantage of all of Youtube’s features because it’s going to be around for a long time.

We just so happen to have 8 hours of video training on everything from equipment, editing, and scripting to marketing your finished video. Check out our EASY VIDEO CREATION training package

Launch Your Product With Video

Do you have a product and are now ready to launch it to the world? What steps are you going to take? Well, you could use Facebook and other social marketing sites to promote it; and you should. But what other way can you promote your product, and promote it for free? Video. Using video when launching a product is not only a good idea, it’s also cheap and easy. In your launch, you want to create excitement and get people talking. Video is perfect for this. Your video could simply consist of you talking to the camera. A basic talking head shot of you talking about your product can be all your customers need to see before they buy. Now we always hear the same question over and over:
“What do I say?”
Well, who knows your product better than you? All you have to do, is tell us about this fantastic product and how it’s going to help us. Here, I’ll make it even easier for you. I’ll tell you what you should say and in the order you should say it.

1. Introduce yourself – “Hi, I’m Marc from TopInternetConsulting.com”
2. Introduce your product and then tell the viewer how it can help them – “We have a brand new CD called ‘Create Product Launch Excitement With Facebook’. If you want to succeed in selling your own products, you need to know how to use Facebook to make a large profit”
3. Tell them where they can get more information – “If you want to get more information on how you can create a huge amount of excitement for your product using Facebook, go to TopInternetConsulting.com for more information.”
4. Outro – “I’m Marc, and I’ll see you there.”

That’s it. Just using that simple script, you can create a video that now can be seen on Youtube and all of the other video sharing sites, as well as your home page, facebook page, twitter page, and anywhere else that accepts video. Using videos is another great way to create buzz for your product.

Also, we do actually have a new CD out focusing on Creating Product Launch Excitement With Facebook. In it you get all the information you need, directly from our social media expert Colin, on how you can use Facebook to create a buzz about your product launch.

Seach Engine Rankings – Learn SEO The Easy Way

SEO, or search engine optimization, is how websites are discovered by the search engines. It consists of many different facets including keywords on the web pages, how many there are, where they are placed, are graphics are optimized, how many sites are linking to you and much more. If you want your website to get good positioning, then SEO is a must learn process. Many of the tactics can be learned and implemented by yourself with a bit of practice. It’s finding a good mentor that keeps up on the changes that is really important.

See, search engines need to constantly change the way they search for websites. That’s because if website owners can figure out how they do it, they could “game” the system and get top rankings easily. Gaming is not how it’s done. A complete and well thought out system needs to be established solely for your kind of site. Setting up long term strategies based on sound SEO principles will keep your site at the top of the searches.

Search engines may change the way the search for sites periodically, but the main sysytem doesn’t change. They just tweak it a little. And a good SEO mentor knows how to create different pages of your website that will come up high on certain weeks and some pages will come up high on other weeks when the search engines change their algorithms…. keeping your site in perfect balance week after week. Trying to chase the search engines around with tricks doesn’t work. In fact it can get your website banned. You need a well balanced and whole view of how you use SEO.

All the SEO training you need for only $9.95 a month.

Online Publicity – Promoting Your Products In Advance

Anyone wanting to sell a product online would benefit from pre-promotions. You don’t want to wait until the product is already out and collecting dust before you start telling the world about it. Just like a big movie premier, you can create a stir and excitement about the product before it is even finished. The whole idea why you would want to do this is to create a mailing list.

A mailing list is a database of email addresses that you gather from an online opt-in form. You may have seen them around, they are plentiful on the web. A page will ask you for your email address before progressing you forward to an information page, a free ebook, or an MP3 download. When you give away information for free over the web, you can easily create a large database of potential customers when the product finally arrives. You can email the prospects special offers and bonuses to sweeten them into buying. This, for the most part, has a higher conversion of sales than just someone visiting a webpage alone.

Pre-promotion really works in every kind of business it’s tried in. From online buzz to ‘coming soon’ signs for retail stores to major countdown sales heading towards a big holiday, people love to be informed about a great deal ahead of time. Start to proactively market your products ahead of their release to maximize the largest sales you can.

Internet Marketing For Small Business – Creating A Good Opt-In Box

1. Lots of benefits near the point where the person has to make a decision to put in their email address. Opt ins haven’t been a novelty for over 10 years. People are afraid you will spam them to death so you must make it extremely enticing for people to risk putting in their email address.

2. A blank field or fields
that send the psychological message to the person looking at it that they should put something in the empty field. It’s not a good practice to simply put a link to your opt in box or worse yet, have it as one of your regular navigation buttons. People will gloss over it there and many will never see it at all.

3. Not too many fields. The more fields you require someone to fill in, the less people that will sign up. You may intentionally want less people to sign up if you have to follow up with them by phone and you don’t have enough people to handle all your leads. Certainly the more info they are willing to fill out, the more qualified they are. When simply giving away a free digital newsletter or download you want as many people to sign up as you can, so less fields to fill out is a better idea.

4. High on page. Your opt in boxes should be positioned high on your page… certainly so it can be seen in the first screen without scrolling. That doesn’t mean you can’t have additional signup areas further down the page, but in most cases we want at least one signup area on the first screen someone sees.

5. Multiple locations. Each page can have multiple locations to sign people up and you should have at least one sign up area on every major page of your site. Remember people can enter your site on any page. They may never see your home page so it’s important to have signup areas all over the place.
